Parks Board invites community to Lions Park playground ribbon-cutting on Aug. 8

At the July 14 meeting Terri Haddix, representing the Parks and Recreation Board, invited Council and the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Lions Park playground on August 8 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. She said the event will include children's activities, complimentary ice cream and refreshments provided by McDonald's, and reminded attendees about limited parking and Service Department assistance.
Haddix specifically thanked Community Development Director Alaina Geres for securing the grant that made the playground project possible and encouraged Council members to consider carpooling. The Parks Board has other upcoming events including Food Truck Night on July 16 and a Christmas in July event on July 30.
