At the public forum, Parks and Recreation Board member Drew Hubbs reported that Movies in the Park was well received and drew about 150 attendees; a local band volunteered to perform and food trucks attended. Hubbs previewed a "Christmas in July" event expected to include Santa, fire trucks and family activities and thanked the Parks Board and Street Department staff for their support.
Council Member Debbie Kemper encouraged donations of unsold garage sale items to Goodwill during the community garage sale weekend (June 26–27) and promoted multiple Parks & Recreation events, including Food Truck Night on July 16 and the Railroad Days festival on Aug. 14–15. Duke Energy was named as a major festival sponsor in the minutes.
