During the workshop, staff reviewed capital purchases included in the FY25 budget and provided outstanding debt figures. Bridget listed police vehicles and equipment, parks and recreation mowers and utility vehicles, code enforcement and animal control trucks, and fire-department medical equipment; she also summarized outstanding debt across multiple projects and funds.
"This 2017 Parkland acquisition has 1,100,000 outstanding debt," Bridget said as she walked through the liabilities, and she later summarized total citywide debt as $14,466,196. Staff described using reserves and impact fees where possible to limit new borrowing, including setting aside funds to pay for a ladder truck over three years.
