Staff outlines proposed utility and solid-waste rate increases in FY25

City staff told the council the proposed FY25 fee resolution would raise enterprise fund charges: a 5% increase for water and sewer rates and an 8% increase for residential solid-waste service. Bridget cited specific dollar changes for residential refuse (from $27.51 to $29.71) and said recycling fees would increase from $5.73 to $8.
"For 1,000 gallon residential household, they'd be looking at around a $10 a month increase," Bridget said while reviewing the utility bill comparison. She linked the enterprise fund changes to capital needs, including an anticipated Phase 1 Public Works Complex that may bring additional debt.
