Bob Murphy, representing the Royal City Golf Course, asked the Royal City Council to consider a $30,000 contribution to replace an upgraded mower, saying play, memberships and greens fees are all up while expenses have risen. He told council that revenue from rental of a course house and RV spots helps operate the facility and that the house roof was replaced earlier this year.
Mayor Pro Tem Ryan Piercy asked whether there were any concerns with the clubhouse; Murphy said he was not aware of problems. Piercy asked staff to place the funding request on the next council agenda for further discussion, giving council members additional time to review the course’s operating needs before any formal action.
