Royal City closes out CDBG water projects after replacing about 13,000 feet of pipe

The City Council of Royal City closed the public hearing to accept final reports for two Community Development Block Grant contracts covering water-system work on Sept. 16. Finance Director Janice Flynn presented each contract and project purpose; consultant Jake Hollopeter of Anderson Perry & Associates said the projects met their goals.
Hollopeter reported that the work under CDBG Contract #20-62210-040 included replacement of about 13,000 feet of pipe, which reduced water leakage, and that Contract #20-62210-027 resulted in a new small water-system management plan and a GIS inventory. The council paused its regular meeting at 8:17 p.m. for the hearing and closed the hearing at 8:25 p.m. with no public comment recorded.
The closeout marks the formal completion of the grant-funded components outlined for each contract; Finance Director Janice Flynn presented the project amounts and outcomes to the council, and the consultant confirmed the technical deliverables. The council returned to regular business after ending the hearing.
