Jury gives notice to change several polling places; appoints Joyce Sewerage District board
Summary
The Winn Parish Police Jury gave notice to change polling places for multiple precincts after facility changes and appointed five members to the Joyce Sewerage District-1 Board during its Oct. 20 meeting.
Mr. Stanley Garrett gave notice of intent to adopt an ordinance changing the polling place for Precinct 04/3 from the Winn Parish Library–Calvin Branch (255 2nd St., Calvin) to the Village of Calvin Town Hall (455 Elliott Ave.) citing limited parking at the library and a completed polling place survey. Later, Mr. Author Robinson gave notice to change polling places for Precincts 02/3, 07/1 and 07/2A from the Old Kindergarten School to Room 3 downstairs at the Winn Parish Courthouse at 119 W. Main Street, following the sale of the Old Kindergarten building; Mrs. Tyler said the meeting room passed the polling-place survey.
On the same agenda, Mr. Author Robinson moved to appoint the Joyce Sewerage District-1 Board: Ricky Vines, Arlene Vines, Tammy Procell, David Procell and Mike Hudson. The jury approved the appointments and thanked the appointees for serving.
