Wabaunsee County to review McFarland Road signage request; crews finish Maple Hill overlay

Road & Bridge Supervisor Josh Hinch told the commission that Alma Township has asked for signage on the roadway that accesses 31085 A, B and C on McFarland Road, specifically requesting "15 MPH, No Parking and Dead‑End signage." Chairman MacGregor said he will reach out to the property owners and report back at a future meeting.
Hinch reported crews finished hauling road rock on 8‑Mile Road and are working on ditch cleaning. The Maple Hill Road overlay has been completed and crews were finishing edge wedging; a small portion of Turkey Creek Road was added to the project. Engineering for the bridge on North McFarland Road remains in process and the project is planned to be let in June. Commissioner Hier praised the rapid response to a culvert failure on Keene‑Eskridge Road, noting that having materials and equipment on hand allowed crews to complete the repair in two days rather than over an extended period.
