The Brookfield Board of Health voted July 30 to approve previously unapproved minutes and to send an amended response to an Open Meeting Law complaint. Chair Jake Hill said the board placed the March 25 and April 29 minutes on the agenda and acknowledged the delay: "The complaint alleges that the board failed to timely create, approve, and produce the minutes from the March 25, April 29 meetings and did not respond to multiple requests for those minutes within the 10 day statutory deadline."
Board member Kim Simons moved to approve the response as amended, and Jake Hill seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote. As discussed, the board said the delay stemmed from transitional changes after a member's resignation and a new minute taker focusing on accuracy for lengthy meetings. Hill said the board will correct a date in the response to reflect July 15 and will forward the final response to the complainant and the Attorney General's Office.
