Dawna Whiting presented the Victim Advocacy Program’s quarterly statistics and described services provided during the reporting period. For the third quarter (January–March) the program served 218 victims and recorded 1,653 service contacts; the case mix continues to be led by domestic violence cases, consistent with historical trends.
Whiting and Suzanne Nordin said victims receive multiple forms of support—safety planning, referrals, court coordination, and follow-up—and noted the program also served 121 victims during the fourth quarter to date with 1,033 service contacts. Whiting told the Council the program’s caseload has increased roughly 50% over the past six years and that adding staff capacity has helped maintain services. She identified The Refuge and the Children's Justice Center as key partners and said advocates refer victims who need longer-term therapeutic services to those organizations.
