Alta Planning presented a trail network analysis identifying three corridors—Rail Trail, American Fork River Trail, and Spring Creek Trail—that would connect activity centers and provide active transportation links to transit.
Brian Tonetti highlighted the potential for the Rail Trail to use existing rail right-of-way to link East Gateway, Downtown, and the Commercial Center, and for the American Fork River Trail to connect downtown with the Recreation Center and the Utah Lake Shore Trail. The Spring Creek Trail was described as a west-side corridor that could improve access to the Frontrunner station. Consultants said interim neighborhood street connections could bridge gaps while permanent trail infrastructure is planned and funded.
