Parents discuss restarting PTAs; Sebastopol Education Foundation and board weigh options

Speakers including Matt Wynkoop and Sarah Shore asked about oversight and how funds are allocated; SEF currently distributes funds based on average daily attendance (ADA), and trustees said SEF leaders are reviewing bylaws that date to the 1980s. Trustee Deborah Drehmel said SEF is discussing possible changes and a separate pledge drive and that some families prefer to give directly to their school rather than through SEF.
No formal change to SEF governance was approved at the meeting. Trustees said SEF and any new parent group will require further information and possible bylaw updates, and that the district and SEF leaders would continue conversations.
