The Anamosa City Council voted to allow Jones Regional Medical Center (JRMC) to store an ambulance in an open bay at the Anamosa Fire Department during cold months. Emergency Services Manager Stephanie Musser told council the request was to keep the ambulance out of the cold, that JRMC provided a certificate of insurance, and that the hospital was willing to pay any electrical service fees.
"So it'd be for Anamosa area ambulance service to have a ambulance in the fire station on the cold months," Stephanie Musser said, explaining the need and noting she was willing to pay to keep the vehicle plugged in. Fire Chief Frank added that the department had two open bays in the old part of the station and that cross-training benefits would follow from staff access. Council moved, seconded, and approved the storage arrangement by roll-call vote.
