Local Hindu civic group outlines volunteer work and donations to Irving programs

Hema Narasimhan said the group adopted a spot on Kinviz Parkway and holds monthly cleanups; she reported the group donated about 1,250 pounds of food to Metrocrest in 2024 and about 600 pounds to Irving Cares last year. The group has organized blood drives with Carter Blood Care (43 donors reported over the past year) and donated school supplies to the Irving School Foundation.
Pranjal Vaidya, who identified as a member of Hindu Suyam Civic Sangh and a Coppell resident, spoke about community participation for the nation’s 250th anniversary and said 37 temples and gurudwaras hosted events and banners in the region. Both speakers thanked council and staff and encouraged continued civic engagement.
Mayor and council members invited the group for a group photo and thanked participants for their service.
