The Irving City Council unanimously voted July 30 to appoint Councilman Mark Kronowith as mayor pro tem and Councilman Dennis Webb as deputy mayor pro tem.
The mayor read the council charter language explaining the roles and then named appointments; a council member corrected the initial statement about which member held which title. Councilmember David moved to appoint Mark Kronowith and Dennis Webb; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
Council took no additional substantive policy action during the appointment beyond the vote; the council noted the positions assist with continuity of municipal government during absences.
