Troup County commissioners approved contracting with Southern Oaks Landscape Company to install landscaping along State Route 109 near Pine Road Park, using a $50,000 Georgia Department of Transportation REBC landscaping grant that requires no local match.
Planner Jay said the work completes the last phase of a multi‑year project and that the requested contract amount is $49,550, fully covered by the grant. Commissioners confirmed maintenance costs will come from previously allocated funds and approved the contract by motion and voice vote.
Work will include seven landscaping beds from the equestrian center area to the specified stretch of Roanoke Road; staff indicated the plant palette was chosen to be heat‑tolerant to minimize ongoing maintenance.
