A fire department official said contractors estimated the cost to restore the shell would be in the range of $100,000 to $150,000. "They said it would be somewhere between 100 and $150,000 just to do the shell," the official said. Staff noted additional site work—repaving a failing driveway, fixing a hole at a bay door and interior living‑area renovations—would require further funds. Commissioners asked staff to check title and reversionary clauses for the property and to return with GIS comparisons of five‑mile coverage, budget figures and bids.
