County staff sought permission to apply for the FY2027 Juvenile Justice Incentive Grant to fund multisystemic therapy and summer programming for youth; they said the county has been awarded this grant for 12 consecutive years and that no local match is required. The board voted to authorize the application.
The board also accepted several small emergency grants with no match requirements: Family Treatment Court ($4,940), Drug Court ($3,813), DUI court emergency grant ($11,163) for drug testing and community surveillance, and a Mental Health Court emergency grant ($15,120) for treatment services. Commissioners approved each award by motion and voice vote. Staff said the DUI and other emergency grants will be used for participant services and testing; the grants were described as continuing program support rather than new multi‑year commitments.
No fiscal match was required for the grants as presented; staff will coordinate program administration through the applicable court and behavioral health partners.
