Commissioner Ellen Rodman led a discussion of the three kayak launches located on city property and advocated for adding wayfinding signage on streets that lead to the launches. The commission also discussed adding a kayak locker at the downtown landing; Amy Fuller said she will look for prices for both the locker and signage.
Commissioners also discussed the Harmon Patridge launch and suggested the addition of a handrail as a safety improvement, while declining the addition of a floating dock. The meeting record does not include estimated costs for signage or the locker; staff were directed to research pricing and return with detailed estimates at a future meeting.
