Road committee recommends vendors for 2026 materials; awards to be acted Nov. 17

"The Committee recommends the following vendors be awarded bids at the next regular meeting of the Jury to be held on November 17, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.," Secretary/Treasurer Karen Tyler said, reading the committee's recommendation. The recommended awards by category were: Fuel & Oil — Lott Oil; Emulsions — Ergon; Metal Culverts — Wilson Culverts; Plastic Culverts — Coburns; Grader Blades — Scott Equipment; Base Material/Pit Run — Industrial Concrete; Gravel & Stone — Luhr Bros.; Retread Tires — Despino’s; Tires & Tubes — Despino’s.
Tyler told the committee the Notice to Bidders ran in the Winn Parish Enterprise on Oct. 1 and Oct. 8, 2025, and that bids were due Oct. 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.; she said bids were received in a timely manner, opened and reviewed. The committee's action on Nov. 10 was a recommendation to the full jury rather than a final award: the transcript records that the committee "recommends" these vendors be awarded bids at the November 17 meeting.
The committee did not record dollar amounts, line-item bid prices, or protests in the Nov. 10 transcript. The Road Committee's recommendation will be placed on the full Jury agenda on Nov. 17 for final consideration and any formal vote required to award contracts.
