"...this property had been, the laid portage aside, in judgment for the town for unpaid taxes, which today are about $170,000," said the interim administrator. After discussion a member moved that the town declare the parcel excess and dispose of it; the motion was approved by the board.
Staff noted the statutory process includes a 12‑month waiting window before auction if there are no purchasers and that the town would need to retain a realtor if it elects to list the parcel. The board voted to move toward disposal rather than retaining the parcel.
