St. James Parish: meters installed parish-wide; audit complete, budget requests due July 31

Parish President Peter A. Dufresne told the St. James Parish Council on July 1 that the parish has completed installation of gas meters across the parish and expects water meter installations to finish in early August. "All gas meters have been installed parish-wide, and we anticipate water meters will be done in early August," he said, adding that early feedback from residents has been positive.
Dufresne also reported that the annual financial and compliance audit for the year ending December 31, 2025, is complete and that auditors found no reportable findings. He said auditors "will make a formal presentation at the July 15 meeting" and asked council members to submit budget requests to the Finance Department by July 31 to begin next year's budget preparations. The president noted the parish is already preparing budget materials and urged timely submissions to allow for review and adjustments.
