Water utility seeks cybersecurity renewal, engineering contracts and $400K pump rehabilitation plan

"You've seen a lot in the news lately about hackers trying to hack SCADA systems," Gordon said in explaining the renewal.
Gordon also described a contract with Blue Water Engineering for soil and erosion control monitoring related to the Sawdust Road waterline project for an estimated $15,000 (paid from the bond project fund). He outlined a separate vehicle replacement request (a 7-year vehicle with about 108,000 miles; a vendor quote of $46,613.06 and a $55,000 request to cover upfits).
Finally, Gordon presented a pump maintenance agreement with Go Forth Williams. The contract lists the system's pumps (a lifetime inventory value shown in the agreement near $3.2–$3.3 million) but staff estimated about $400,000 would be spent to rehabilitate pumps over the near term to prevent failures during summer peaks when the utility pumps roughly 35,000,000 gallons. The committee moved these items to consent and approved them by voice.
