The Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission appointed nine people to the newly formed Greater Rigby Area Outreach Committee on April 15. Commissioner Lacy Barney moved to appoint the following: Jeff Francom, Jim Gerdes, Josh Fielding, Keith Grover, Kristine Warner, Nancy Mahoney‑Martian, Sage Blom, Shane Love and Steve Stringham; the motion passed unanimously.
Two applicants who attended the meeting introduced themselves before the appointments. Mark Thompson said he has lived near County Line Road for five years and described his engineering and software background and interest in balancing growth and community needs. Josh Fielding, a patrol lieutenant with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, said he wanted to give back to the community and help shape local growth responses. Both interview comments were brief and the board did not raise follow-up questions.
