Commissioners OK department and board appointments, replace redevelopment commission nominees

Commissioners approved a set of department appointments and board assignments for 2025, including cemetery commission, highway superintendent and emergency management posts. Doug Horn moved to approve the appointments as presented and the motion passed unanimously.
A dispute arose over nominees for the Jay County Redevelopment Commission when Duane Monroe said he "would not be in favor of appointing Brian McGalliard." Monroe moved instead to appoint Ted Champ, Carl Walker and Doug Horn to the redevelopment commission for 2025; Doug Horn seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved organizational appointments and a Dunkirk Library Board appointment for Patricia Moore.
