Commissioners approve year-end emergency claims including $366,000 jail bond payment

The Jay County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a set of emergency year-end claims and routine dockets during the Jan. 13, 2025 meeting. The claims presented for payment included $366,000 to Bank of Oklahoma for a jail bond payment, $298,733.13 to the Treasurer of State for SWETA, $22,094.60 to the Treasurer of State for fines and fees, $15,000 to Kleinpeter Consulting for work on the Owner-Occupied Rehab (OOR) program, $13,413.39 to Medler's Furniture for office flooring, and $6,240 to Schneider Geospatial for the 2025 GIS maintenance contract. Rex Journay moved to approve the emergency claims; Brian McGalliard seconded the motion and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
Commissioners also approved the payroll docket, the December claims docket and the clerk's monthly reports as part of the same session. The approvals were recorded as routine business without further amendment. No dissenting votes were recorded.
