The council approved Resolution 25-05, appointing Vince (Vincent) White as interim municipal judge after the courts clerk, Carla McCrimmon, described the hiring timeline and the need for temporary coverage following a retirement. McCrimmon said the RFP was posted Jan. 6 and closes Jan. 29; a selection committee that includes the city clerk, the mayor and a council member will convene Feb. 3 to review proposals and recommend finalists to council.
McCrimmon described White's experience—service as municipal judge in Elizabeth and Parker and prior district court service in Douglas County—and recommended him as an interim given his availability and bench experience. "I was very impressed with him... I liked his professionalism," McCrimmon said. Councilors asked that White's resume be included in the record and expressed support; the resolution passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
