Public Works staff described the truck as having roughly 28,000 miles and said comparable trucks found in other markets were priced substantially higher. "It's a really good deal," an engineer said after the board reviewed quotes; the motion to approve the purchase was moved, seconded and passed by roll call.
Staff noted the vehicle will serve as a salt/moist truck and has side sprayers useful for compost and landfill operations. The purchase will be processed through the county procurement and contract process and staff indicated the contract had been reviewed though a signature page was missing from the vendor packet.
