Jefferson County Engineer Sam Scott told commissioners on April 27 that speed-study data for 3800 E supports raising the posted limit from 35 mph to 45 mph. Scott said the data indicate higher operating speeds and recommended the board consider a resolution to change the legal limit and make enforcement possible.
No motion or vote was taken at the meeting; Scott said a formal board resolution would be required for the change to take effect. Commissioners directed staff to prepare the resolution and supporting materials for a future meeting so law enforcement and the public can be informed of proposed changes.
