Commissioners approve Lakeside Recreation license; concessionaire to pay 6% of gross sales

Jefferson County commissioners on April 27 approved a license agreement with Lakeside Recreation that will require the concessionaire to pay the county 6% of gross sales for the coming season.
"It is 6%. We're gonna do the 6% of gross sales," Chairman Hancock said as the board moved and seconded the contract agreement. The motion was approved by roll call with the commissioners present voting aye.
Parks staff reported the lake and associated booths will open this weekend and described recent infrastructure work to prepare facilities, including rewiring cameras, installing new gates and bringing IT equipment online. Parks director Martin said Lakeside Recreation typically nets roughly $70,000–$80,000 in a season and that the county received seasonal checks in prior years from the vendor; commissioners asked staff to provide last-season revenue figures when available.
The contract approval was handled during the parks-and-recreation portion of the agenda and was followed by routine operational updates about summer programming and lake events.
