Jefferson County staff recommend evaluating Aumentum to replace aging property-tax software

"They threw out to us implementation was $52,270.25. Annual cost was $30,009.45," said the presenting staff member (speaker 3). Staff said Aumentum could ingest county data and go live within four to five months after a contract is signed, which would place a transition after the assessor's busiest work and before 2026 tax-charge processing. Staff recommended waiting for a formal contract and legal review before committing funds or executing an agreement.
Commissioners asked how the change would affect other county modules that ComputerArts supports, such as treasurer, clerk and payroll functions. Staff and IT clarified the proposal covers the property tax module only; other county functions use different modules and would not immediately move. Commissioners also discussed how to pay for any switch and whether American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds could be used to defray implementation costs. Staff said they would submit the vendor contract to county counsel for vetting prior to returning with an authorization request.
The board did not take a vote on the software at this meeting; staff said they will return with a vetted contract and clearer funding recommendation.
