Public Works Director Mike Carter told the board the scraper’s transmission must be replaced; the quoted repair cost was $69,440.27 with a potential $17,999 refund if the transmission core proves reusable. Commissioner Clark moved to approve the repair; Commissioner Young seconded and the board approved the repair on a roll-call vote.
Carter also presented a quote from American Pump for a 10-horsepower replacement well pump at the Circular Butte Landfill, priced at $34,135.78. The board approved that purchase by motion and roll-call vote. Other landfill equipment topics (shop air compressor and hot pressure washer replacement) were discussed but the board requested further research and took no purchase action at this meeting.
