Committee approves grant-funded replacement of Med 1 ambulance; motion carries 3–1
Summary

The Marquette County Judicial & Public Safety Committee approved the purchase and replacement of Med 1 using grant funds during its July 1, 2026 meeting. EMS Director Rob Lulling presented the replacement plan and said the county has a plan for the current vehicle fleet once the swap is complete.
"Moved by Chuck Bornhoeft and seconded by Mary Walters to purchase and replace Med 1 with grant funds, the current Med 1 will then become Car 1, and the current Car 1 will be sold at auction. Motion carried 3:1 (Noes: Krause)," the meeting record states. Bornhoeft moved the motion; Mary Walters seconded. Committee members present for the vote were Chair Judi Nigbor, Chuck Bornhoeft and Mary Walters (yeas) and Peggy Krause (no). The committee approved using grant funds to buy the ambulance; the record notes the decision and the resulting vehicle reassignments and planned auction.
