Board approves waivers to allow recently hired teachers time to meet credential requirements

"This is just simply one of the technical aspects to making sure that one of our new hires this year...this waiver buys those employees some time to be able to pass the test needed to be fully credentialed and intern eligible," a district administrator said.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the waiver process and emphasized the district's diligence in ensuring qualified hires are in classrooms. The board moved and seconded approval of the waiver and voted 4-0 in favor.
What happens next: HR will track credential progress for the named employees and ensure documentation is in place for audits.
