County acknowledges sewer-rate ordinance reading, approves AJ’s Saloon alcohol license and fund transfer

Supervisor Meek read the 1st reading in its entirety of Van Buren County Ordinance No. 2013-2, Amendment #12 (Mt. Sterling Sewer System Rate Ordinance) on March 10; with no comments, the board acknowledged and approved the 1st reading (Ayes: 3).
The board also approved a 12-month Class C retail alcohol license including outdoor service for AJ’s Saloon Inc., Mt. Sterling (Ayes: 3). Separately, the county auditor noted a 3rd-quarter FY2025 transfer of $250,093.00 from the Rural Services fund to the Secondary Roads fund was to be made under prior authorization (Resolution #06-24-2024D). Payroll and claims for the period were then approved (Payroll #46277-46371, Claims #3233-3319; Secondary Roads – #30697-30724).
