Council names Michelle Donahue to Planning Commission, reappoints firefighter pension trustee; town hears community notices

The council approved several personnel and community items. Kathleen Dominguez, town clerk, presented two applicants for a planning commission vacancy; Michelle Donahue spoke about her service and desire to continue on the commission and Steve Madsen withdrew his application. Council voted to reappoint Donahue to a three‑year term ending Sept. 30, 2027 (motion carried 5‑0).
Dominguez also reported on candidates for the Town of Lantana Firefighters Pension Fund Board; Michael McCurdy submitted a reappointment application and the council reappointed him for a term ending Sept. 30, 2028. During public comments, resident Jesse Rivero thanked staff for installing new fluorescent bus‑stop signs on several dark routes, Erica Walls proposed a children’s mock voting activity at presidential elections, and Rosemary Moring announced Friends of the Library events including a Sept. 18 tea.
