Council budget earmarks $780,000 in infrastructure surtax projects including kayak ramp and town‑hall windows

Finance Director Steven Kaplan told the council the infrastructure surtax fund includes targeted allocations for capital projects and retains a surplus for future work. "We've included 30,000 to replace the, kayak ramp at Lyman Kayak Park, 250,000 to replace the windows at town hall for high impact windows, 500,000 in paving," he said.
Kaplan said the fund has a surplus that can be used for projects going forward. Council members praised recent attention to previously neglected island infrastructure and thanked staff for progress on drainage and other projects.
