Pawnee County Appraiser Tina Keeler briefed commissioners on HB2644, explaining the bill would cap valuation increases for residential and commercial properties at roughly 5% annually for five years after a taxpayer wins a property valuation appeal. Keeler told the board the change would affect "about 75 properties, including the Pawnee County Co-op Association."
Keeler said some larger counties may seek to challenge the legislation and that the Appraiser's Association would support their efforts if they do. Separately, Keeler reported operational issues: rodents have damaged parts of the Appraiser's vehicle (chewing through the O2 sensor and a USB wire), which she had not yet repaired.
