After interviewing five applicants to fill the District 2 vacancy, the council moved to appoint Corey Salazar by resolution 24-71. The motion was seconded and the council voted unanimously to appoint Salazar. Clerk Duffy administered the oath of office and Salazar joined the dais as the new District 2 council member.
Council thanked all applicants for their willingness to serve. The appointment fills the seat created by Mayor Pro Tem Price's resignation effective at the meeting; council indicated liaison assignments and other procedural items would be set at a future date.
