Council members voted, by individual motions, to fund a range of local events: $10,000 for Front Porch Fest (Sept. 3–6, 2026); $5,000 for the Dominion Valley Labor Day Weekend event (Sept. 4–6, 2026); $3,550 for multiple Patrick County Music Association concerts (Oct. 23, Nov. 13, Dec. 12); $2,850 for Stuart Spooktacular (Oct. 31, 2026); $2,450 for the Fairy Stone 5K (Oct. 3, 2026); and smaller awards including $1,500 each for Ararat Ruritan Club (Oct. 17) and Reynolds Homestead (Sept. 26). Other approved amounts included $1,000 for Wayfest (Aug. 15), $1,000 for the JEB Stuart Encampment (Oct. 3–4), $1,500 for Rising Talent, $800 for the Festival of Lights (Dec. 12–23), and $250 for the Meadows of Dan Folk Fair (Aug. 15).
Motions were made and seconded on the record (for example: Ararat Ruritan Club motion by Kurt Bozenmayer, seconded by Wayne Kirkpatrick) and votes were recorded as unanimous for the listed approvals, with named members recorded as voting yes: Chair Bessie Weber, Secretary Jeanie Clark, Co-Chair Kurt Bozenmayer, Wayne Kirkpatrick and Brian Alley (absent: Chris Prutting; Mary Dellenback Hill). The application from Doe Run Farm for a sunflower maze was not brought forth for a vote.
