Resident says speed bumps will damage horse-drawn wagon; council approves temporary removal

Braden Syrett told the council the speed bump near the horse corral damages the horse-drawn wagon that will use the overflow parking during next week’s Gem & Rock Show and that Ruby’s Inn will need to route semi‑trucks for an asphalt project. He said the council needed to reroute the wagon for three days and remove the bump to avoid damage.
The council agreed to remove the affected speed bumps for the month of July and directed Tanner Wilcock to pull them. In addition, members agreed to convert the speed bump near the city park to a speed hump to reduce damage to equipment while preserving traffic calming. The decision was presented as a temporary, operational change to accommodate the event and adjacent contractor traffic.
