PCPSA board approves purchase of tablets for meeting packets

The PCPSA board voted unanimously April 28 to purchase tablets for board members and to distribute meeting packets electronically, following a Cost-Benefit Analysis presented by Executive Director Mark Vernon.
Vernon said the analysis showed a breakeven point in about 2.5 years and projected direct cost savings after five years (net savings of about $1,938.78) assuming typical tablet replacement in year six. He also cited indirect benefits including reduced staff time for printing and binding (about 16 hours per year), faster packet updates, searchable documents, and the ability to include multimedia in packets. On motion by Scott Eutsler, seconded by Terry Tilley, the board approved the purchase (Aye: all; Nay: 0).
