Grant County Court on March 18 adopted Ordinance 2026-07, establishing a five-year schedule of annual adjustments to building permit fees. The ordinance indexes fee increases to the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) and covers structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits, along with state surcharges and a technology fee to support online permitting services.
Planning Director Shannon Springer presented the ordinance and reviewed detailed schedules for permit types and adjustment provisions. The public hearing was opened for comment and closed at 10:34 a.m.; Judge Hamsher moved to adopt the ordinance, Commissioner Rowell seconded, and the motion carried. The change is intended to align fee revenue with administrative and enforcement costs for building code services.
