The Arcadia Unified School District board on Feb. 11 accepted the Measure A Citizens Oversight Committee's 2023–24 annual report, receiving the committee's finding that expenditures outpaced parcel-tax revenue for the year.
Matthias Huber, vice chair of the oversight committee, told the board the committee reviewed the district’s parcels-tax income and spending and cited an independent audit. "Total parcel tax revenue collected in 20 20 three-twenty 24 was €4,445,545," Huber said, and the committee reported total expenditures of "€5,275,064," a gap of about $830,000 that was covered by the fund balance. Huber said the difference had been anticipated and that the fund balance remained available for authorized uses as of June 30, 2024.
Board members thanked the volunteer oversight committee for its work; one former oversight member said the role is "thankless" but vital. A motion to accept the report carried 5–0. The committee said it will continue oversight work and meet next on June 2, 2025.
