The mayor opened the Town Council’s special Dec. 10 meeting by asking members and the public to hold in their thoughts employees injured in an overnight shooting at the Rock Irish Pub in Lake Worth.
"So, I'd like to have a moment of silent prayer. Keep them, your fa their family coworkers, in your thoughts," the mayor said, calling attention to the incident that the council said resulted in two employees’ deaths and two people in critical condition. The council then recited the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Councilmember Castle.
The mayor also reminded attendees that a comprehensive presentation by Integra was postponed to a tentative time‑certain date of Jan. 9, 2025, and that members of the public who speak at this Dec. 10 meeting would waive their opportunity to speak at the Jan. 9 presentation.
