Council approves $399,683 engineering contract to modernize four aging lift stations

The Lantana Town Council voted unanimously to authorize engineering services for replacement and rehabilitation design of four aging wastewater lift stations, approving a contract authorization (CSA 2024-07) not to exceed $399,683.
Director Crockett told the council that the four stations — Nos. 3, 4, 8 and 9 — are the town’s remaining 'dry-can' type lift stations and are “well over 30 years old, and they are definitely in need of replacement.” He said the CSA covers design and engineering; construction will be scheduled and budgeted in future years so the town can phase work based on funding availability.
Councilmember Castle moved to approve CSA 2024-07 with the listed engineering firm and to authorize the town manager to execute the agreement and any amendments; the motion carried 5-0. Director Crockett said the design step is needed before staff can present construction costs and schedules for council consideration.
