Board tables decision on $173,000 court-furnishings match pending research

Board administration presented a request to formally allocate FY24 court-match CIP funds to pay Woodbury County's required 25% share of furnishings for a remodeled judicial area in the new LEC facility. Ryan Eckerson said a law effective July 1, 2023, made counties responsible for 25% of such furnishings; the total remodel cost was presented as $692,000, of which the county's 25% share was roughly $173,000.
Eckerson asked staff to research whether prior approvals or ARPA allocations already covered part of the amount and recommended tabling action until the board could review documentation. The board voted to table the item for one week by unanimous vote, 5-0.
