Board approves Sutherlin Drive annexation and abandonment of unused First Avenue right-of-way

Commissioner Byrd presented a City of Warner Robins request to annex 13.38 acres on Sutherlin Drive (Tax Parcel 000780 227000). The Board voted unanimously to concur; Chairman Perdue noted the rezoning from County C-2 to City R-4 reflects lower density.
During the same set of motions, the Board opened and closed a public hearing on abandoning an unimproved section of First Avenue in Lashley Subdivision (Lots 246 & 247, address 606 Second Street, Bonaire). With no public comments, the Board approved the abandonment and authorized signing the Deed of Abandonment and the Resolution of Right-of-Way Abandonment. Commissioner Byrd said returning unused right-of-way to the tax rolls is beneficial to the county.
