Commissioners approve annexation of 45.69 acres on Air Park Drive with studies required

The Houston County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to concur with a City of Warner Robins annexation of 45.69 acres on Air Park Drive (Tax Parcels 000770 101000 and 000770 102000) provided several conditions are met: all current County utilities remain with the County, the City submit a traffic study including trip generation for the proposed development layout, a water distribution study verifying adequate fire flow and pressure, a water purchase agreement, and repairs to existing roads damaged by construction traffic.
Commissioner Byrd introduced the request and Chairman Perdue noted the property is currently zoned County R-2 and will remain R-2 after annexation. Perdue emphasized that because access to the property would be over County roads, a traffic study is necessary to assess neighborhood impacts. The motion passed unanimously (Perdue, Byrd, Gottwals, Robinson, Talton).
