Commissioners expressed competing priorities: some favored administrative flexibility to ease applicants' burden, while others warned against concentrating too much decision‑making power in a single staff position.
After discussion the commission approved an amendment to the ordinance to change the timeline to two years (instead of an administrative transfer of authority). The body moved and seconded the amended recommendation and the motion carried; the ordinance will be forwarded to the County Commission.
